Jemima Moore-de Vries

Jemima has been a copy writer and editor for 15 years and an academic editor for 10 years. Over the last decade, she has edited over 1000 papers and has helped over 200 clients get published in highly ranked conferences and journals or secure grants from national funding bodies, such the ARC and NSF. Her secret is that she makes even the dryest prose so enjoyable to read that reviewers want to work with authors to get the paper published. It might take 2 or 3 resubmissions, but even the most problematic papers get there in the end!

Andre de Vries

Andre used to work at Word by Word as a proofreader, but he converted to part time in 2020 to pursue a law degree. He is now Word by Word's business manager. He prepares the invoices, keeps the books, and takes care of all the admin. So if you have an admin or finance question, just email Andre and he'll help you if he can. Additionally, he still proofreads for Word by Word during busy times, particularly during his summer and winter breaks from school. Of course, his study of law helps him edit business and law papers to perfection.
